BirdLife Northern Queensland has produced birding guides for a variety of locations in Northern Queensland, as shown in the list below. These brochures are the copyright of BirdLife Northern Queensland, but subject to not infringing copyright (for financial gain, for example) we encourage you to download and print them for personal use.

The version of each brochure is indicated by the date, so that you can check whether you have the latest version.

The brochures are in Adobe Acrobat portable document format (pdf) and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them. This is pre-installed in most computers and can be downloaded from this location:

Cooktown & Cape York Peninsula

Cooktown and District This district covers the area around Cooktown north to Cape Melville, south to the Bloomfield River and west to the eastern boundary of Lakefield National Park and West Normanby River. Cooktown is at the junction of the Wet Tropics Rainforest, Cape York Peninsula and the Einsleigh Uplands with many different habitats: bird list and information. Download (207KB) April 2013
