About the event
Hello beach birders,
We’re holding a Beach Birds workshop on Friday, 6August for Land & Sea Ranger groups and Birdlife Shorebird volunteers. The morning will include:
- A project update – particularly Beach Stone-curlew distribution, breeding and threats in the Cairns and wider Wet Tropics region
- BirdLife head office training on safe nest surveys – gearing up for the next breeding season
- An opportunity to workshop ideas for improving protection for beach-nesting birds on our local beaches
- BirdLife head office will present some practical conservation measures and education programs that are having success in other parts of Australia.
Would love to see some of our Beach Stone-curlew surveyors there. We know a Friday won’t suit everyone, and unfortunately numbers are limited due to COVID requirements, so there will be a recap of some of the main points at the BirdLife meeting on Thursday, 19 August.
Please RSVP to amandafreeman@naturenorth.com.au by Tuesday, 13 July.
