About the event
Come and join us looking for Wet Tropics birds, and learn how to survey for them.
We will undertake bird surveys at a number of sites within the Misty Mountains area over the long weekend. To join us you will need to be completely self-sufficient with your own camping, sleeping and cooking gear and food. 4WD vehicles would be beneficial to access more remote sites. After dinner on Saturday 30 September, we will provide an update on the Wet Tropics Birds in Wooroonooran National Park Project.
We'll be surveying in Wooroonooran National Park, Misty Mountains area, and camp at South Johnstone camping area which is about 10–12 km in from the Palmerston Highway. Access will be from Malaan Track (as K Tree road has a land slip and subsequent closed roads)
Please register your interest in attending with the event organisers Ceri Pearce and Amanda Freeman to assist planning and coordinating entry and exit to the campground. Phone 0488 131 581 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you there!
