About the event

Come join us for a relaxed morning of birdwatching at Warrina Lakes Community Parkland, one of the Cassowary Coast’s hidden wildlife gems. This inviting parkland weaves together wetlands and waterways, lush lowland tropical rainforest edges, and open grassy spaces that attract an impressive variety of birds. Over the past several years our regular visits have revealed a remarkable array of species, often tallying 40–50 birds in a single walk and contributing to more than 70 recorded for the site this year alone – a striking diversity given the park’s modest size. 


Whether you’re new to birding or have years of sightings under your belt, you’ll find something to enjoy as we stroll the lake edges and winding paths, listening for calls and spotting birds in their favourite haunts. Along the way you might encounter colourful parrots and honeyeaters in the fig trees, elegant herons and ducks on the water, or…
