Tablelands Bird Talk: Bird discoveries made through camera lenses

Join BirdLife Northern Queensland for a special illustrated presentation by well-known ornithologist Dr Cliff Frith, exploring the remarkable discoveries about birds that have been made through the lenses of amateur and professional photographers around the world.

Bird Discoveries Made Through Camera Lenses is not simply a talk about bird photography. Instead, Cliff will show how photographs – sometimes of even very common species – have revealed new and scientifically important information about birds and their lives.

Drawing on examples from northern Queensland, elsewhere in Australia, and around the world, the presentation will explore discoveries relating to nests and eggs, plumages, geographical distributions, feeding and foraging, social and courtship behaviour, unusual nests and bower structures, rare hybridisation, and more.
