Topic: Challenges to enhance the biodiversity of wetlands
Meet at the Cattana Wetlands Car Park
Let’ s celebrate the World Wetlands Day at one of the most successful wetland restoration sites in Northern Queensland. Cattana Wetlands is a former sugar cane farm and sand quarry. Many native plants have been planted over the years. There have been a number of new challenges to enhance the biodiversity of the wetlands.
Geoff McClure and Denis Moeser will lead the group and show us some of the remarkable achievements in recent years. Appropriate footware and sun smart clothing for field walk are suggested. If you have a pair of binoculars please bring them. There can be quite a few mosquitoes. If severe weather conditions are foreseen, this event can be cancelled without prior notice.
Please RSVP to the contact below prior to the event. This is a free event for both members and non-members. Due to the current COVID situation, please be mindful of the government requirements for outdoor activities at that time.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
Please RSVP to Mikey Kudo, Cairns Area Coordinator on kudo555@hotmail.co.jp or 0402 343 610.
